Please create child theme from admin, then use the chid theme. When you need to change anything just change the content in that child theme folder. child theme is created and used on PS 1.7.4.x version
The hooks do not correspond entirely with the module position placement. I mean there are many positions where "fieldhtmlblock" is associated, that do not show up on "fieldhtmlblock" config page. Is this some installation error?
That's your effect when using 2 themes. they get mixed up with each other because the database is not added correctly. and also the reason for the problems on PS 1.7
How can we setup Prestashop 1.7 child theme for Organic 2?
We do not want to loose changes after theme has un update.

Seems to be working with PS generated child theme, but...
We do not have access to many hooks on main "layout-both-columns.tpl".
we changed template from organic2 to organic1
on the "fieldhtmlblock" page we can see some fields that we can edit with "fieldhtmlblock".
