Ihave already make a file with "ico" extension but Prestashop 1.7 refuse to validate it. Iread several things about this 1.7 problem. So I would like to know where is exactly the original icon in your template to change it with FTP ?
I succeded to change the favicon. Your path was right but it was a problem of refresh which didn't work at the beginning nor with Firefox neither the cache in Prestashop, and then it worked,

Make sure you change the favicon with an img file ending in .ico
and the size is 32x32

There is four favicon.ico files in the template but none of them change anything, i don't understand.
